Hi! My name is Lia Avidan, and I'm a 9th grader at Don Soffer Aventura High School. I chose AICE Media Studies because learning about the specifics of the media caught my eye—especially since I have never taken a class on this topic before. In particular, I am interested in the creative aspect of this class and the process that goes into creating forms of media. 
   Creating a blog and magazine intrigued me the most in enrolling in this class. I have some knowledge of creating a magazine: my classmates and I made a magazine in 7th grade using Mark (previously Lucidpress). I enjoyed each part of the process, yet I wanted to explore this realm more thoroughly—such as using Adobe Photoshop, which I have always been fascinated with. I am eager to expand my skills.
   We, as a society, are constantly influenced by and immersed in the media, from propaganda to entertainment from the widely-used phones, computers, and more. Therefore, studying something we experience daily was an immediate interest of mine. As this class entails creating media of my own, I am fascinated to use the skills I learn throughout the year and document it through a blog and magazine.
